Fortune is a black and tan, 9lb Chihuahua mix with legs like a gazelle. He is up to date on shots and has been micro-chipped. He’s come a long way from Windsor to Chatham and now to Oakville where he resides with his two foster doggy friends. Fortune is a handsome little boy with a slight overbite and a few missing teeth. The foster mom suspects he lost his teeth from a dispute over an old girlfriend. These days Fortune spends his time in bed covered in blankets and away from the cold taking long naps. He enjoys sitting in your lap or cuddled beside you to absorb all your heat. Fortune is super excited when he hears you calling him and comes immediately with his tail wagging. He has a great temperament and loves to put on sweaters or clothes for short brisk walks to the park and walks great on a leash. He is housetrained but does occasionally have a few accidents if you don’t let him out often enough. A gated backyard would be ideal as he will quickly scoot out, do his business and rush back in.
Fortune gets along very well with other dogs he meets. He tolerates cats but he is cautious and curious about them. He does show some dominant non-aggressive behavior toward new people he meets. He will quickly overcome it with the proper correction, trust and patience from the other party. The foster mom is working to socialize him with new experiences and people.
Fortune would do best in a home with other doggy friends his size. He hangs out with his friends in an x-pen during the day. He should not be left alone for long periods of time. He makes a great companion; whether watching television with you or going on short shopping trips or car rides in the car. He is a real snuggle buddy and is looking to find his best friend and a forever home.
